UNID Technologies GmbH is an international engineering and trade company that renders
services as a supplier of solutions and processing equipment for petrochemical and power industry.
Filling, packaging and transportation of bitumen
Worldwide globalisation has meant that an efficient solution for the transport of bitumen is now a major factor when it comes to logistics. Over the past 40 years, different forms of packaging designs have come along, but most of them have soon disappeared without making any significant footprint in the market.
UNID Technologies has combined the designs which did stand the test of time with new developments, and is now in a position to provide a wide range of packaging solutions for all means of transport and applications. The focus is on terminals, refineries, and all types of bitumen producers, to facilitate the supply of road grade bitumen to the client, especially at exposed locations.
- Process equipment: UNID Technologies's process equipment is designed to cool down different bitumen grades to filling temperature. The recently upgraded design combines the latest state of the art cooling technology with the possibility of adding different filling solutions. The new concept is the economical answer to achieving profitability. In addition to the fully automatic process equipment, there is also a scaled-down version available (manually operated).
- Filling station: UNID Technologies's filling stations make highly economical usage possible, while at the same time allowing for environmentally-friendly and semi-automatic filling. The range of unique bag developments calls for unique solutions, which in turn are reflected in our broad product range.
- Packaging material: the exceptional structure of strong flexible polypropylene outer bag and remeltable polyethylene inner liner is consistently implemented in all package forms. Moreover, UNID Technologies hold the patents for 50% of the bag concepts available.
- Melting: the new design is developed on a 20´ container base, in combination with new heating technologies, leading to an economical overall concept for the re-heater. As well as different heating sources available for the 20´ version, the 40´ size has the advantage that it can be used simultaneously as a day tank on site.
The company TAIF-NK PSC (Nizhnekamsk, Russia) decided to implement "HRCC VCC" process which leads to a certain amount of bitumen as by-product. UNID Technologies was offered to design a cooling and packing unit for the surplus of bitumen.
Object of design: bitumen cooling and filling unit for 20 MTPN under ex-zone conditions.
Scope of work: design, supply, commissioning, start up and training of personnel.
The bitumen unit was put into operation in September 2016, PMB (polymer modified bitumen) was successfully filled.
